Emerging design concept

The emerging design concept is of mainly low density family homes together with a number of small scale commercial/light industrial units, which would help maintain and enhance the economic viability of Chelford

The proposals include 104 houses, 36 of which would be affordable together with B1 office / light industrial accommodation. Access to the residential part of the site would be as existing from Knutsford Road, with improvements being made to visibility splays. Access to the employment would be from the existing access adjacent to Chelford Farm Supplies. The proposals also include an area of public open space, as well as a children’s play area, identified as an aspiration in the Chelford Village Plan, together with a green link from the centre of Chelford to the bridleways beyond the site. Car parking which can be utilised by the village community will also be provided. There would be no alteration to the existing bowling green.

The housing would be high-quality family housing of a mix of size and tenure, and would be carefully designed to reflect the village character of Chelford and sit comfortably within this site which is an important edge of the village.

The plans on this website are draft and present options for you to consider. A final masterplan will be prepared once feedback from the consultation event has been received.
