It is over ten years since the first tentative plans for a church extension were discussed by the PCC, over three years since the insurance company closed Ford House and two years since the feasibility report was distributed to every house in the parish.

Following lengthy discussions, a series of consultations, a lot of hard work and no little expense, St Peter’s Church will shortly be submitting a planning application for a development proposal which covers the Church, Norman Chapel, Hearse House and Ford House. This holistic approach, which was suggested at a meeting with English Heritage and East Cheshire Council planners, has many advantages both in the short and long term and is one the church fully support

A development team with expertise on listed buildings and conservation, highways, landscape, ecology and environmental issues have been instructed to advise on the proposals.

The local community has been involved throughout the evolution of the scheme and prior to submission of the application this website has been created to allow you to view the proposals and to provide feedback to the development team in advance of the submission of a planning application. We are keen to hear your views on the emerging design concept for this important site at the heart of Prestbury.
