Parish Presentations on Sunday 11th July - After presentations from the Vicar and the development team there will be an opportunity to ask questions.
After this consultation final adjustments will be made to the planning application, including incorporation of any ideas arising from the Parish Presentation, and it will then be submitted to East Cheshire Council.
Once planning permission has been secured the church will put in a "faculty" application. The Church of England enjoys "ecclesiastical exemption" from listed building consent and conservation area consent. This is a valuable element of autonomy which allows the Church to maintain and develop its buildings, churchyards and associated land, in line with the spiritual needs of the living Church. However, such autonomy relies on the Church applying its own robust system of control - the "faculty" system. Final plans for development on the church site will be submitted to the Diocesan Advisory Committee (DAC) for formal review and an approval decision by the Diocesan Chancellor. The church has already gained enthusiastic support from the DAC when they presented an overview of its development intentions late last year.
Once all the permissions are in place the church will work with a development partner to undertake the building work and sell the properties.
