The proposal is to develop the site for 15 houses, of which 4 would be affordable houses for local people to be provided by a Registered Social Landlord. The houses would be 3 and 4 bedroom houses aimed at retaining young families within the village and the locality. They would be of a size suitable for families with proportionate amenity space.

Design inspiration is taken from the village, and the houses proposed would be constructed of traditional materials. The buildings would be visible from Grange Road, however they would be 2 storeys in height to respect the character and appearance of the immediate area.

Access to the site would be taken from Grange Road. The layout and design of the buildings has been carefully developed with a view to minimising the impact of views of the site. The proposed buildings would be well screened by the existing landscaping. The scheme will also include associated landscaping and planting.

In terms of highways matters, the redevelopment of the site for a residential use would result in significantly less vehicle movements than a commercial use.
